In-Cosmetics 2025 - the essence

Since the biggest event of the year for us - the In-Cosmetics trade fair for cosmetic raw materials - is already behind us, we can now take a look at what Countess Laboratories jotted down in the diary:

“Well, this edition left us feeling slightly unsatisfied, as the trade show was overwhelmingly dominated by three main topics:

  1. Sun care - including boosters, dispersing agents, film formers, alternative forms of filters, prevention of sunburn and structural damage after UV exposure. Then, a long pause...

  2. Sticks - an interesting cosmetic format (SPFs, blushes, foundations, etc.) and gelling/stiffening raw materials.

  3. Exosomes - presented by at least 10 companies. Some manufacturers developed entirely new raw materials, while others discovered exosomes within their existing ingredients. In our opinion, easier access to them will make what we saw this year in Bologna (exosomes = clinics) already outdated by next year.

  4. Silicone alternatives - the industry's efforts are focused on replacing D4, D5, and D6, so almost every distributor showcased their alternative. We were particularly impressed by a natural substitute for silicone elastomer.

  5. Sensory experience - which has recently taken the spotlight - it’s through sensory delight that we aim to make customers fall in love with our product.

  6. Natural styling - another year of observing the development of raw materials that offer alternatives to synthetic hair-styling ingredients.

  7. Lip care - a few interesting ingredients dedicated to lip care. A trend consistent with our observations in Bologna.

  8. To a lesser extent - mRNA, DNA, vegan collagen, collagen production stimulation, deodorizing substances.

  9. Skinification and hair care - to a very small extent. Previous years were rich in prototypes and raw materials, but this year that was no longer the case. Perhaps the market is becoming slightly saturated? There’s a bit more buzz around rebuilding disulfide bonds.

Separately, I’d like to commend the trade show organizers for the excellent food services - it was very diverse, there were stands in almost every hall, and lots of seating. After Paris, where lunch meant only a sandwich/croissant with espresso, usually standing or sitting on the floor, in Amsterdam we were well-fed and better rested.

This year, as a fun and playful touch, we chose the Countess’s signature accessories - a fan and a jabot. Thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun 💃 Some of you looked truly fabulous in them! What a cultural loss it is that the jabot has disappeared from our wardrobes - we officially call for its comeback 🤩

Huge thanks to everyone who tirelessly and cheerfully presented their products and solutions to us!
