From the Contract Technologist’s Bathroom

This is what a cosmetic technologist’s bathroom looks like or, more precisely, my bathroom 😊 I say this with a touch of self-irony, giving you a peek behind the scenes of my daily work (and that of many in the industry)🥼 🧪

You might think that working with cosmetics means my bathroom looks like a drugstore shelf, but nothing could be further from the truth.

The job involves gradual product tweaks, and every formula needs testing. Cosmetic formulation is a controlled mix of chemical ingredients, and only a real product can verify their accuracy of proportions. Isn’t it fair and responsible for the technologist to be the first to try them?

I usually have full freedom in choosing ingredients and concentrations, so I’m not afraid to use what I create. My skin reflects my formulation style - I enjoy crafting formulas where ingredients work synergistically and through multiple mechanisms.

Every day is a user test: sometimes a shampoo or cream still doesn’t deliver that magazine-perfect effect, sometimes it finally works and brings pure joy 🤩 Currently, I’m testing around 20 products (for face, hair, teeth) and sometimes I don’t know which sample to use first because each one is “urgent” 😅 

In a technologist’s bathroom, a few benchmark products sit in a corner, while substitute containers filled with everything we’re actively working on proudly take center stage 🥇
